The Peak Leadership program is a set of events where the Student Association brings in a guest speaker who shares their success story and how they attained it. Right after the guest speaker is done, there is usually a networking event held at the Council Chambers. I got to meet other students from different programs with the same goal and motivation as I have. It was very exciting and it was a lot of fun.

Although I missed the last event, I am planning on attending the future events.

Before my time in BCIT, I finished my culinary training at VCC. Early mornings, intense pressure and heat and working to beat the clock are familiar concepts to me.

In one year I learned so much, not only about cooking but also about work ethic, responsibility and perseverance.

I attended trade shows and volunteered to help in contests. But unfortunately it didn’t feel right. So yes I’m a certified cook. But no, I won’t be going down that path. I do keep all the lessons I learned.
