My name is Ashley Salvador, and I am a graduate of the Marketing Management program specializing in Tourism at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
This e-Portfolio is designed to showcase some of the work that I am the most proud of, while attending BCIT.
My long term goals include working in the luxury travel, event or incentive travel industry.
In this project that was completed for my Community Development course, we did a destination brand assessment. The country that I chose was Cuba, and their Cuba Autentica campaign. Please view this project here.
In Market Research class, our project was to complete a full analysis of a problem of our choosing. My group, Dream Research & Consulting, decided to research the effect of the internet and online booking agents on traditional travel agents. This class incorporated Microsoft Excel Data Analysis (XLDA), online survey development with snap surveys, secondary research, qualitative research and quantitative research. The results were very interesting and the report can be viewed here. To view the survey results, as well as XLDA results please view the Appendices here.
This group project was to plan and execute a familiarization trip for Vancouver. The project included researching venues, transportation, partner selection, and a detailed budget for the event. Please click here to view.
In this class our assignment was to create a luxury event proposal of our choice. We were to develop a budget, logistics, sample menus and invitations, as well as many other aspects of the event. This project achieved a grade of 94%. Please click here to view the event proposal.
This is a sample of a Sales Blitz that I created for my Hotel Sales & Marketing class. The assignment was to create a sustainable hotel in Whistler, British Columbia complete with CSR and then create a fully integrated sales blitz to promote the property. See the Blitz presentation here.
For finance reports, our class was assigned an individual project which required a precisely timed 5 minute oral presentation. I chose to sell the Snuggie to my peers, who graded my presentation. I received 90% on this assignment. Please click here to view my powerpoint.
For Business Communications our assignment was to profile a publicly traded company of our choice. The report included financials, ratio analysis, a company profile complete with CSR, as well as other company information.
In Business Systems, we were assigned a team project to create a promotional advertisement about why we chose BCIT. Below is the PowerPoint presentation that my group made. We later converted the PowerPoint to a YouTube video. The tools that were used in making this commercial were PowerPoint, Windows Movie Maker, Microsoft Word and we converted the PowerPoint to video format via software called Acoolsoft.
In Marketing, as a team we created a Marketing Plan for a well-known company. My team chose Blackberry and I am very proud of the final product. Our marketing report included a situational analysis, a marketing objective, a SWOT matrix, the market trends and a full set of financial statements including a marketing plan budget.
