Hello and welcome to my e-Portfolio! I am currently a student at BCIT working towards my Diploma of Technology in Financial Management. My career goal is to eventually work my way up to becoming a CGA. If you wish to contact me, please click on my Contact Page and fill in the form there.
In our BSYS class, we learned the functionalities with creating charts. Below is a link to all the charts that were created.
After spending a few weeks learning how excel works with functions and formulas, we were to design a business model showing what we have learned. My team made a loan amortization business model.

During a Business Systems Class I constructed a Mortgage Calculator using Excel 2007. You can alter your interest rate, years, number of payments and loan amount. It will then calculate your interest, prinicipal and total payments.

While employed at my past job, I had the opportunity to further myself and take a course called “Retail Managment Excellence.” In this program, I learned how to do the following:
•Think critically concerning issues relating to managing teams – including: conflict resolution, collective agreement administration, performance management and team building
•Build an engaged and integrated team
•Refine, and demonstrate your problem solving and analytical skills
•Understand the ‘big picture’ of store operations and partner with the management team to achieve both store and organizational goals
•Act as a coach, mentor and resource to your store team
•Understand key business metrics, identify opportunities, and take appropriate steps to improve
•Support store recruitment, selection, training & development, performance review needs
Along with my busy life at school, I enjoy keeping busy and having fun! A few interests of mine include kayaking, being outdoors and travelling. I think that in our busy lives, we sometimes forget how important it is to enjoy life. Live each day to its fullest and don’t let an opportunity pass you by.

Another project that we completed in our Business Systems class was creating a blog tutorial. The topic that was given to me was “using custom themes with MS Powerpoint 2007″ Here is a link to this blog:

In our Business Systems class, our group did a report on an Introduction to Facebook. After we completed the project, we posted it to lulu.com http://www.lulu.com/product/e-book/introduction-to-facebook/5605363 where it can now be purchased for a small fee.

During a Business Systems class, we were to create a newsletter showcasing what he had learned with MS Word 2007. It gave us an opportunity to learn new things that word has to offer. The contents of the newsletter were discussing information about ourselves and skills that we posess.
In any team setting it is very important to set “team rules.” One of the first tasks that our groups had to perform was creating a team charter. This wasn’t the easiest thing to create, putting 6 strangers together and having everyone agree on what the standards should be for the team and attempting not to offend anyone with our thoughts and ideas. But, after some great brainstorming, our team came up with a fantastic Team Charter that we all agreed on!

In a recent marketing class, we were given a case study regarding RIM and their Blackberry. We were to come up with different strategies that RIM could execute in order to keep up with the new smartphone world. Using what we learned in class, we performed a SWOT analysis for RIM as well as creating different alternatives RIM could undertake. Here is a screen shot of the particular case.
