The first day at BCIT “the orientation” was the first day I signed up for a student association. I wasn’t expecting much to happen this day but seeing how it was a new school and seeing how I wanted to be involved, I tried to join everything that I could. It seemed as if everyone at orientation was signing up to be part of the Financial Management Association. Maybe it was all the free shirts, pens and notepads, they were giving away, or maybe it was the persuading speech they gave but either way a lot of people signed up. Personally I signed up because of the free stuff, but there were other perks for this group. I get to meet with potential employers, have face to face interaction with people in the business etc.

I feel that being part of the FMA is a good thing, maybe it’ll help me find my future job.
