I am currently a student at BCIT looking to pursure a career in Business, but more importantly an Accounting designation. My long term goal is to achieve the best education possible for this field and to be a part of an internationally based company. My main drive for success has come from my passion in the Equestrian world. I’ve been training since I was eight years of age and still continue to do so on an everyday basis. Horses are the love of my life and I will provide you with a few samples.
Bcit has taught me a number of practical skills for the world of business. The institution has a great reputation for hands on learning that is extremely beneficial for obtaining a successful career. Recently I attended a meeting regarding the Winter Olympics 2010. The meeting was for volunteers wanting to work the winter games and gain the experience to be added to your resume.
As part of our BSYS assignments we created a how to project using Microsoft Office Word 2007. We chose Facebook as our topic and worked on this project in groups of three. As part of the project we also posted it to Lulu.com
Besides attending BCIT, I’ve also completed a diploma program in Business at Capilano University. The great thing about having previous education is I can use the skills I’ve already obtained for furthering my education here at BCIT.
I chose to come to BCIT because I wanted a hands on atmosphere with profs who are currently in the work force.
Here is a recent Marketing Presentation that I completed amongst a group of seven. It was based on a case study we were given and we had to come up with alternatives, plans and solutions for the problem.
In our Communications class we were assigned to create a presentation with Microsoft Powerpoint 2007. This was an oral presentation that had to be backed up with visuals. For my assignment I did a company and I based it on Walt Disney.
This powerpoint was one of our first assignments in Business Systems. The project taught us how to use Microsoft Office Powerpoint correctly which we were later tested on.
