Excel Models

Here is another BSYS project: excel models! I learned how to use excel back at Waterloo, in an earlier post of got a more complicated model I made for a case study, but rules say I’ve got to put up so many BSYS projects.

It’s a mortgage calculator, handy for seeing how bad of a deal your getting.

Teamwork

One of the best parts of BCIT is the team building. Teams were used in many of projects, and team management skills were taught in my Organizational Behavior course. This team charter was made in that course to outline team standards and objectives, it was also the first team assignment that we had. I think the most valuable skills I’ve learned so far at BCIT are the team skills.

Internet marketing seminar

I attended the “Social Media Branding in the Era of the Empowered Consumer” seminar at the Vancouver Library. Eric Weaver, an expert on internet marketing, talked about how social media is effecting branding, and how marketers are having to adapt to the this change. Really exciting stuff.

Film fest

Film has been a interest of mine since high school. I always try to catch the Vancouver Film fest when it’s in town. I gravitate to humorous films, I find independent films have a refreshing change in sense of humor than what you see in the mainstream. I enjoy the serious films as well, but for the most part don’t actively seek them unless the topic intrigues me- I’d much rather just have a laugh.

Palm Pre Presentation

What I’ve found most beneficial so far from my time at BCIT, presenting. I apparently have a nack for it, I bring a lot of energy and humor to my public speaking to keep people interested. Before BCIT I was always very nervous about it, but now at least I’m less nervous.

Dynamic Business Model & Case study

This is a dynamic model I made in MS Excel 07 for our 2nd marketing case study. Based on price and units sold, It uses a customizable formula to calculate and graph revenues, costs, profits and margins.

Word tutorial

This is another BSYS assignment to introduce wordpress. It’s quick write-up on using tracking changes feature of word, I took a humorous approach.

BCIT boogie

A power point powered video advertising BCIT. Done for a project, sadly the compression and compiling left it pixilated and jerky. Also the requirements for the project really stunted it as a commercial.
