WelcomePosted by: Kevin Giles in Uncategorized, tags: BCIT, E-Portfolio, Kevin Giles, Marketing ManagementWelcome to my E-portfolio. My name is Kevin Giles and I will be showcasing examples of my work here. I am a first year Marketing Management student at BCIT, whose focus is in Professional Sales. My aspirations are to complete my current two year program, then to complete my BBA at BCIT. My career goals upon completion of my degree is to secure an entry level sales rep job, preferably with company in the health care industry. If you wish to contact me, pleae click on my Contact page and fill in the form their. My current skills include computer knowledge, great presentation skills and a high motivation to accomplish any goals that I set for myself. This E-Portfolio was an assignment given to us in our BSYS 1000 class, here are the instructions we were to follow This is the Zen groups first attempt at a written case study, we had to analyze and write a full document where we looked at some of the problems RIM is facing in which we provided solutions to their problems The following is a newsletter I created in MS Word 2007 in our BSYS 1000 course. The objective was to show our knowledge while producing a professional looking newsletter which included inserting columns and inserting dropped caps. This is the second case study that the Zen group worked on, this was our case study to present and I was vital in the putting together of the powerpoint. I was also the lead speaker for our presentation with the important job of delivering the conclusion. Here is an excel assignment that I completed in my BSYS 1000 lab, excel is the hardest MS program to use but through assignments like the one below I am improving my skills hugely. The following is a powerpoint presentation we created in MS Powerpoint 2007 in our BSYS 1000 course.
Some valuable work experience that I recieved was being employed by Canada Safeway for a year and a half. During my time their I was offered an assistant manager position, but I turned it down as it required me to take a six month training program in Calgary. While employed their I was the only student intrusted to work in the Dairy department. I also, recieved cashier training and on multiple occassion I was praised for my excellent customer service skills. One hobby that has been a staple in my life is the sport of soccer, I spent my whole youth career playing for Surrey United. I am now playing out of the FVSL on CFC, we play out of division three B and are currently leading our division. I am currently tied for fourth on my team in points with 3 goals and 7 assists Another hobby of mine is volunteering, I love giving back to the sport I love. I am the head coach of my younger brothers U-13 Silver team, at times it has been frustrating, but it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I get an immense satisfaction as you watch the boys soccer skills grow over the course of a season. This is my third year coaching and I hope to continue doing it for a long time. Our schedule and standings can be found on the BC Soccer Website An event that I have recently attended was the BCIT MA club meeting on Wednesday morning, I find these meetings a very informal setting in which I gain valuable industry knowledge. Recently I was nominated and elected to the post of 1st year liaison, this is a high honour as I am the only first year marketing student on the executive board. Another important aspect of my life is my family, they have helped mold me into the man I am today, as the oldest of three siblings I have always been counted apon to set a good example from my younger siblings. Over the years I have passed my experiences on to them the best I can, but I have found that the best experiences of my life involve the times I spend with them |
