We have completed the John Chow Business Model and I learned that starting up a website does not require a lot of expenses while the revenue can be as high as half a million. (Of course, that is if the website is well established and has a large amount of subscribers.) For the project I took part in setting up the What-if model. Because we did not have a lot of numbers to work with so consequently we had to make a lot of assumptions. The biggest assumption made was the allocation of visitors from the Paid Traffic and the Organic traffic entering the Sales funnel, because the number of people entering that stage would directly affect the revenue made. On top of that, we also had to make assumptions about number of Ad_clicks so that we can account for the cost per click (which we said it would be $0.20 that John has to pay out everytime someone clicks on an ad). Having said, there was a lot learnt from this project and it was a great experience.
Recently I have attended a RSVP event at Open road Lexus. I was invited to preview their new hybrid vehicle that was yet to launch. Throughout the event, I got to understand the technology that has been used and incorporated in the new vehicle. Moreover, I was also introduced to some of their concept cars. It was an experience where I not only had the chance to learn a lot of the most updated technology at their company but to also understand the significance of these new inventions. It was my pleasure to be a part of their successful campaign. For more information about their launch please press the picture below.
I have developed a tutorial blog to teach people how to download templates for Powerpoint. In my blog I have written down the steps in how to download the templates. Along with the steps are also snapshots so that you can follow through. Below is the link to the tutorial blog if you are interested:
I have completed a degree at University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2008. Throughout the four years at UBC I have focused my study in Psychology and Economics. After graduation, I went to Hong Kong and worked as an Inventory Planner at a company named Fossil. It is an American based company specializing in the production of their home brand of watches and handbags as well as retailing other established brands such as Burberry, DKNY, Marc Jacobs and Adidas. Below are two links to Fossil and UBC:
I have always enjoyed travelling. Last summer I had the opportunity to go to Dubai and had the chance to experience the culture there. I stayed at the newest hotel there named “Atlantis the Palm” which is located on the Palm Jumeirah Island. Understanding that Dubai is actually a desert, it was unbelievable to see in person that they were able to make a sea in the middle of a desert. It had no signs of being a desert except for the extreme heat because you can see tall palm trees along highways and everywhere in the city. According to my tour guide, the government there spend $500 US per tree every month to provide water supplies underground for the individual trees. Above is the picture of the hotel I stayed in.
Recently I performed a product analyzation on Lexus’s new F-Sports accessories for my Marketing course. It was a study where I had to predict whether the line of accessories will be successfully marketed when introduced to other models when it is currently serving the IS 250 and 350. It taught me to analyze the success of a product where profit was of a lesser concern. The main focus for this analysis was on the value that can be derived from purchasing the product and whether it can market itself to compete with its in-house value packages. When a group of people have to work collectively as a team there are always different expectations and working habits for each individuals. Therefore, a Team Charter was developed to guide team members to engage in appropriate behaviours in hope to bring forth individual growth and team success. The following is a Team charter that I was involved in putting together.
