In this project, we had to work with excel and figure out formulas in order to come up with our own business model.

On the occasional day off, I like to enjoy a game of tennis.  I’ve been playing for about two years and I am still mastering the craft.  I really enjoy playing and hope to play some more this summer!

For this project, I had to choose a product from anywhere in the world and come up with my predictions as to why or why not the product would be a success or failure.  I choose to use the stairlift that would be marketed in India.  I had to use concepts such as the SWOT analysis as well and also integrate the concept of target market.

For marketing, we had to present our case study.  We had to work together as team once again to come up with some innovative ideas.  We also learnt about target markets, swot analysis, key findings and more.  We used powerpoint to group our ideas and also for our presentation.

For marketing, I had the chance to learn some new information about myself. I had to take a test where I found out my personality type. From there, I had to relate my personality to how I am as a consumer. As a consumer, I had to explain my thoughts on valued products, prices and cost efficient ways to save money.

In this lab assignment, I had to design my own newsletter.  The newsletter gave me the opportunity to use some features in Word that I was not too familiar with before.  I learnt how to use columns, spacing, formatting and I also worked with graphs and charts.

In this assignment, we had to design our own introduction to Facebook.  We had to decide on the layout as well as figuring out what extra features we needed to use that we normally don’t get a chance to use.  I helped with the tables and I also figured out how to put together the index.

Recently, I attended the PSA, Punjabi Student Association.  In this event, we discussed fundraising ideas and came up with strategic plans to enforce these ideas.  We were creative enough to come up with a few options and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.  We accessed each option carefully, and then later, voted on the best one.  This was indeed, a team effort and we all worked cooperatively with each other throughout the event.

I’m able to fully converse in three different languages. I have completed the French Immersion Program in highschool, where I intensively learnt french for six years.  Furthermore, I am also fluent in Punjabi. These languages enable me to converse with individuals who might end up getting neglected because of their lack of ability to speak in English. I believe that language is the key to communication, which in turn is the first step to work well with others.
