Students leaving university can expect increased competition as a recent survey indicated a 33% increase in applications. That means that the expected level of applications to enter the London market this year is about 343,000. This has left many graduates taking low-skill jobs due to the high competition for work in their fields of study. Another study shows that 40% of last years graduates are still unemployed even in the lower-skilled job market. Scary facts considering the investment that graduates have made in their education, one would expect some level of return on investment.
