Here is a database that my team made in our Business Systems Class. We used Microsoft Access 2007 to make a database for the city of Vancouver to use to keep track of students skating lessons.

For Bsys 1000, our assignment was to create a newsletter that was kind of like a wanted ad for yourself. It was to showcase your talents and abilities to potential employers. The purpose of the assignment was to learn all the different formats you can use Microsoft Word 2007 for.

Now how could I do a blog without including at least one assignment that was accounting related. I mean after all, I am a financial management student. This is the worksheet of one of our assignments. Problem 5-4B in our textbook Fundamental Accounting Principles. This is the full worksheet including everything including adjustments and all 10 columns.
In our Bsys 1000 course, we have started using some of the many functions that Microsoft Excel 2007 has to offer. In this particular assignment, we were to calculate the commission % using both the nested if formula and the Vlookup. These formulas helped choose the correct % that went to each sale.
The last event that I had attended was in October 2008, but it was a great learning experience. I went to an economics seminar at the Sheraton Landmark Hotel also known as the Empire Landmark which was hosted by the Fraser Institute. The event was great, there were a number of economists from BC and Washington who gave speeches and explanations about the basics of economics and how it impacts every decision that we make and that government will make.
For our marketing class, we had to do a case discussing Research in Motion’s plan to move into the consumer market ahead of Apple’s iphone and new itouch. Overall I learned alot about the smart phone market and how much goes into a marketing plan

For me, ever since I was a little kid, soccer has always been my life. I’ve played it since I was only 6 years old and this relatively simple game never gets tiring. I do love to follow all soccer, but especially my favorite team FC Bayern München either in the Bundesliga or the UEFA Champions League.
I have always loved them because of one simple fact. Every great German player has played for this historic team. Nothing is better than watching the German National team play in either the World Cup or the Euro. A strange sense of patriotism flows through me as I watch them play. Especially their captain and my hero/role model Michael Ballack. I have watched him so many times and when I play, I try to be that leader on the field and dictate the play with power and precision. Here is my favorite Michael Ballack goal at Euro 2008 against Austria.
At BCIT, there is alot of focus on teams and team work. One of our first assignments was to create a team charter for our Organizational Behaviour class. In it are all the rules and goals that we as a team came up with to work at our very best and to be successful. This project really shows that 6 heads are better than 1 and how team work can benefit into something amazing and professionally done.

In our business systems class, we learned how to use microsoft word 2007. For this assignment, we were to take some information and create an informative document describing how and what is email. We then created the document and uploaded to lulu to share it to the world for a small fee which will go towards our student association.
For our Business Systems 1000 course; our team, Great Assets, had to make a powerpoint showing all of the reasons why we chose to come to BCIT. It was a great team effort as we all pitched in to finish the project and put all of our ideas together. We learned how to use a number of different transitions and other useful tools in powerpoint.
